Mud run Gal boys & Girls

As the clown did the countdown from ten to five each number he said made my heart beat faster and faster till it got to 5 then we all started walking to give each other space and after 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 we were off. As we were running on a path, the crowd was cheering us on until we got to the bridge then the challenge has started.

We were running as fast as we can to make it through the other kids that were holding up the line but then it got longer and longer and we couldn't wait anymore so we had to use our surroundings and there were some small hills that were on an angle so we ran on an angle past all of the other kids that were participating. As we were jogging past some of the other kids that were participating we see that some of them were getting stuck in the mud and even some of the shoes were getting stuck.

After jogging through all of the mud puddles and past the other kids we were wondering where was all of the obstacles and then when seen one huge one and that one huge obstacle was jogging up a mountain and we saw most of them were struggling to make it to the very top and when we got to the top it didn't stop there cause there were other obstacles but this one was to do with climbing and then we had to run back down the hill while not falling and when we finished running down the hill we started jumping over muddy puddles and then we got to our next obstacles which were crawling on our hands and knees under ropes then arm crawled through a tunnel.

Then we went back to jumping over tree logs and also muddy puddles and we were getting tired of each step we took and then we came back to the hill on an angle. Then after a few more steps, we were at the bridge we see the crowd cheering us as we jog on the path we came from and then we made it to the finish line and I was proud of myself and I had fun and enjoyed it and I wish I could do this again in the future.

Settlers Brought new changes to New Zealand in the early 19th century.Early European explorers introduced a wide range of food plants to New Zealand, including wheat, maize, potatoes, cabbage and carrots. Also an American whaler introduced a variety of kūmara which was larger than the one they were growing.Also people from British did bring some new changes to New Zealand but they brought muskets,war and houses.The reason why settlers brought new changes to New Zealand was because British were motivated by the desire to forestall the New Zealand Company and other European powers.

The fight of the virus

 Before this thing happened let's head back to 2020 people across the world thinks 2020 was going to be one of the best years ever but it all changed when a deadly virus called covid-19 came spreading across the world to all countries and killing anyone who stands in there way or infecting them so they can do the work for them and die later. All Doctors around the world are trying to make a cure for this virus but they would need more time to make it but for now the best thing we could do to help them is by staying home,wearing a mask,staying 2 feet away from others and always washing your hands before doing anything.

After a few months people were allowed to come out of their homes and smell the fresh air once again and little kids can go back to school to see their friends and they don’t need to be afraid of stay 2 feet away from them.During this time Doctors finished making there cure for this virus kids 12 and over had to get this cure injected into them so they can be safe.When coming to the end of 2020 people were excited to start a fresh new year but little did they know covid-19 always finds its way back.

Here in 2021 it's all peaceful around the world sometimes news reporters say we might go into lock down but after 2-3 days they would let us know if we are or not but till then we will never know?. On friday the 26 of february the news reporters told us once again we might be going into lock down but this time for good people were so shocked they couldn’t move. It’s like we're in a castle and we are being attacked and they found a way into our castle but If we can defend it we can fight the virus and end this miserable nightmare but for now we must pray and take a stand to overcome this virus and take back our freedom.

Mr and Mrs gock have been together for a very long time. They are chinese and they live in New Zealand. They like to garden and help their plants grow but they've been having some trouble growing their plants.

EVIDENCE

The reason why they are having some trouble is because there was a disease called the black rot and this disease likes to spread around vegetables and Mr and Mrs gock likes to grow kumaras and the disease likes to spread and they also needed to keep their broccoli fresh and clean.

EXPLAIN

all of their broccolis are turning yellow and limp because once you pick the broccoli the broccoli doesn’t stay for long and Mr gock wanted to keep them fresh and green not yellow and limp and that's why Mr gock found a way to keep them fresh and green by putting the broccoli inside a chill bin or in a polystyrene with ice in it and that's how Mr gock keeped his broccoli fresh and green and they also can’t tell watermelons apart.

There are some watermelon with seeds in it and some watermelon has no seeds in it and that’s why Mr and Mrs Gock had trouble telling them apart because the watermelon with seeds and without seeds apart so they put a sticker on the watermelon with seeds in it and that’s how they could tell the watermelons apart.

Mr and Mrs Gock ideas like when they put stickers on the watermelons to tell them apart and all of the others then after that all of the other gardens used their ideas and now when you go to the supermarket all of them has their interesting ideas in there and thanks to Mr and Mrs Gock for their contributions they did for New Zealand.

My Day

Today I had a lot of work to finish but it was a little bit hard for me but I pushed myself to finish all of it.Because if I didn’t I would stay back in class to finish it and I didn’t want to do that.

firstly work I started with was to comment on ten peoples blog in my class and so I got to work.After an hour I was done and then I had to put all of the ten blogs on a google sheet that our teacher did for us.Once I was done it was the after noon and I had lunch after lunch I went straight back to work.

Next I had to post a lot of work and I was working for two hours and I got a lot of my work done and I had to post all of them onto my blog.Because I haven’t been blogging when we were in the lock down.Soon I was finish and so exhausted and really sleepy so after having dinner I went to bed

Dear vector wero on behalf of glenbrae school I would like to thank you and your crew for being so kind to glenbrae school for letting the year 7&8 go water rafting for free. It was one of the best time of lives and I wish I could come back here again to learn more about how to keep safe inside our raft’s,outside,around waves and how to pull people up into the raft’s safely and sometimes later I could bring my family here to learn about water rafting and more.

Book Week in School

This week was book week. There was a play performed in our school hall on Tuesday.

The play was about the Treasure Hunt that has been written by Craig christie.

There were two tribes living on an island.These two tribes blamed each other for stealing each others song.

The Treeland tribes was led by George and the Seaview tribes was led by jessica. These two characters teamed up to solve the problem about the lost treasure that was there song.

The problem was solved when there were able to put the torn map together and work out how to get to the treasure.They had to read three different books to solve the problem.

I really enjoyed this play because both of the characters were very smart and talented.They sang very well and were also very hilarious.

Thank you sam and Lydia for coming to our school.I hope to see you again next year.

Financial Literacy

Today and yesterday we learnt how to budget and how to save money.The other topics we learnt about were insurance,borrowing and lending,identity theft mortgage,trust and saving money.

Our tutors were Ema,jane and matt from price water house and cooper accountany firm.

I enjoyed all the sessions because the activities were very exciting and practical.

KIWISPORT

Today the senior school had its first Kiwi sport session for this term.

Ben, from Auckland Badminton taught us some badminton skills.We used a badminton racket and a shuttle.

We learnt how to hit the shuttle using a forearm hit and backhand hit.Ben also taught us how to hold the racket using different grips.

Today has been the best day because i get to learn how to play badminton and i can teach other people how to play when i'm older. 

THE LONG WEEKEND/STAYING HOME

It was a bright sunny morning.I woke up feeling happy and also abit tired. So I went into the bathroom and washed my face and after that I brushed my teeth to make them look shiny.
After I was done brushing my teeth I went and made myself an egg sandwich. I filled up a cup with milk and then I ate my breakfast.

Next I went in the lounge  and I sat down and I played fortnite on my dad’s ps4. I was playing on the game for 1 hour and 40 minutes. my brother and my two sisters woke up and they came into the lounge to play too.

When it was the afternoon my brother and my two sisters were all hungry so I made them some eggs with bacon and with milk.
they ate all of the food and then my mom and dad woke up. they smelt the food and they asked “what’s cooking?”
I said I’ve made my brother and the two girls some food to eat and also I’ve saved you some mom and dad.

After dinner we all said good night to our mom and dad and then we went to our rooms and went off to bed ready for school in the morning.

FRIENDS

What makes a good friend?

A good friend will always be by your side and never leave you behind. They will tell the truth and never lie. We tell secrets and we take care of them.

We play together and never be apart. We are role models to all the little ones. We use our manners and we don’t swear. We also be polite everywhere we go.

We respect each other and don’t use put downs. We forgive them if they're silly. We listen to our friends and never look away when they are speaking. We return what we got and look after their property.

Space has a lots of stars and the stars shine bright up in the dark purple night sky.


Planets are tall,long,small and also big .They all rotate around the sun and the sun is a hot boiling star.


Astronauts land on the moon.The moon is small and it’s colour is a light grey. The astronauts jump on the moon and find crater that a size of a giant hand.


Coldest planets in our solar system are light blue Uranus and the darkest neptune.Both of the planets are really cold.

The Mysterious Cave

Me and my friend Mason found a mysterious cave that no one knows. There was this beautiful and cold waterfall and it was big ,tall and it was frozen also it was very,very cold. For 30 mins me and Mason wants to go deeper so we went deeper into the cave to look for more things.


As we went deeper it was starting to get darker and so cold when it was so dark me and Mason did not see each other so i got out my flashlight and i turn it on.


For a little bit of mins we were starting to walk deeper down into the cave and on the way were saw a dead body it smell so grosey and after 2 hour and 30 mins we were walking deeper and deeper then we saw a stream of light shine a something big.


When we saw it it was a giant ship it was so long,big and it colour is red,black and gold also the ship was so old. Me and Mason were so excited and we were running all around.then when we stop we both got onto the ship and we took it out to sea for a sail it was fun to ride on a giant ship.


This has been the best day ever we both need to go back home before 10:00 but we do not want to go back home but we had to so we took the ship back to land and we went back home.

I see a lot of trees in the cold winter breeze

I see a bright yellow, orange sun rising and shining as bright as a star. It shine bright and I see a stream of yellow, orange light on the cold icy field. I see a lot of trees in the cold winter breeze. I see tall trees, small trees and funny trees.

I hear kids playing on the freezing cold ice and I hear birds chirping really nicely and I hear the wind blowing beautiful and strong. I hear a loud jet, it zooms really fast and it makes a loud sound.

I smell barbecue and also some yummy cupcake .

I Feel the barbecue and it was really,really hot so i put my hand in cold water .

I taste the cupcake and it was so yummy and also the barbecue it was good.
